We’re incredibly honored to share that FindRx was recently featured in USA Today as one of the startups shaping the future of healthcare. For us, this isn’t just national recognition — it’s a meaningful milestone that validates the mission we’ve worked so hard to build: making essential medications accessible to every patient, especially during times of shortage.
In the article, USA Today highlighted a pressing issue that many patients are facing: even after overcoming obstacles like high medical costs, limited insurance, and travel barriers, they’re often met with one final, devastating hurdle — their medication isn’t in stock. Drug shortages have become so severe that Medscape recently described pharmacies as being at a “breaking point.” This growing crisis doesn’t just inconvenience patients; it disrupts treatment regimens, threatens outcomes, and deepens existing health disparities. That’s the problem FindRx set out to solve.
We created FindRx to simplify the process of finding medication during shortages. Instead of asking patients to call around or drive from pharmacy to pharmacy, we do the work for them. After a patient submits their prescription details and location, we begin searching nearby pharmacies — starting close to home and expanding outward — until we find the medication in stock. But we don’t stop there. We stay with the patient every step of the way until we confirm they’ve picked up the prescription. Because to us, care doesn’t end when the search does — it ends when the patient has their medication in hand.
This model was born from real experience. I founded FindRx while still in pharmacy school at Northeastern University, after witnessing firsthand how patients were being turned away simply because their medication was unavailable. It was heartbreaking to watch, and it was happening too often. That experience lit the fire that became FindRx. I believed then — and still do — that true healthcare innovation must focus not only on new treatments, but on access to them.
In the USA Today article, I shared what makes our company different: we help patients regardless of profitability. We treat every individual not as a transaction, but as a person in need of care. That mindset has helped us grow beyond our early-stage roots and has led to other recognitions — including being selected to pitch at the SXSW 2025 Student Startup Competition in Austin. But being featured by USA Today is a particularly special honor. It amplifies our message, affirms our impact, and energizes our mission going forward.
And we’re not stopping here. At FindRx, we’re already working on the next phase of innovation — combining clinical data, patient insights, and technology to create diagnostic and treatment solutions that are more accessible, effective, and personalized. Medication access is just the beginning. Our long-term goal is to build solutions that ensure every community, no matter how underserved, can receive the care it needs.
Being featured in USA Today is a milestone, but it’s also a reminder: the work we’re doing is urgent, necessary, and far from finished. We’re grateful to be recognized, and even more excited for what’s ahead. If you’re someone who believes healthcare should be compassionate, innovative, and accessible — we’d love for you to be part of our journey.
